Klug: “We have had really good support from Argentina”

Moscow, Russia, May 28, 2016 – Ana Gallay and Georgina Klug are very thankful for all the help they have been getting these past few years, working their way towards the Olympics. She and Ana Gallay are close to qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. The Argentinean pair ranks fifteenth on the olympic qualifying list, excluding Brazilians.

At the 2012 London Olympic Games 30-year old Gallay finished 19th with Maria Zonta, with only three FIVB events in that year as preparation. This time, with Klug, there was a long-term plan.

“When we started we had a four years period to be amongst the best sixteen players. We see this (qualifying) as a way of measuring all the work that we have done in these last four years up until now”, Gallay said in Moscow, where they finished a disappointing 25th this week.

“We have really good support from Argentina”, Klug added. “We have been travelling the last four years with almost everything paid. The dream of being in the Olympics and playing against all these teams and have a chance to win, I think that is the most important.”
