Bansley/Wilkerson vs. Ludwig/Walkenhorst (Friday, 12:30 p.m., Toronto time)

 
The two teams will be meeting for the first-time on the FIVB World Tour.  Bansley and Wilkerson are playing in their first international event together and qualified for the SWATCH FIVB World Tour Finals by winning a Canadian country quota match Tuesday.  MATCH PREVIEW
• First ever meeting between the two teams in FIVB World Tour competition
• Wilkerson (24 years old) is the youngest player in the main draw and has also played in the fewest tournaments of all players here (this is her 15th FIVB event)
• GER leads all women's teams on the FIVB World Tour with six titles in 2016 and US$289,875 in winnings. They also clinched the FIVB 2016 season points title.
• GER had won their last 13 pool play matches before losing both in this event. It is only the second time that GER has failed to win a pool play match in an FIVB World Tour event, the other time was due to three forfeits (Fuzhou Open, April, 2013)
• CAN are playing their first event together after Bansley and Pavan split. 
• GER has a 65-10 match record this year, including 31-7 in elimination rounds and 14-7 in three-set matches
• CAN has a 2-1 match record this year, winning a country play-in and one of their two pool play matches in Toronto
