MATCH NOTES

• Wilkerson (24 years old) is the youngest player in the main draw and 
has also played in the fewest tournaments of all players here (this is 
her 15th FIVB event)
• CAN are playing their first event together after Bansley split with 
Sarah Pavan after the Olympics. Their first match was a two-set win over 
Italy's Giombini/Menegatti
• CAN and GER are the only teams here that did not compete in the Rio 
Olympics
• GER has a 60-24 match record this year, including 34-9 in pool play 
and 18-11 in three-set matches
• GER began the year winning 18 of its first 21 pool play matches but 
since then has gone 16-6
