Canada announces beach team

 
Ottawa, Canada, September 24, 2018 - Volleyball Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Olympic Committee, is pleased to announce that a women’s beach volleyball team has been selected to represent Canada at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Argentina, from October 6 to 18.

Erika Vermette, 17, and Dana Roskic, 18, who represented Canada at the 2018 FIVB Beach Volleyball U19 World Championships placing fifth overall, will be among the 32 teams competing at the the Parque Tres de Febrero in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
 
“Erika and Dana have proven they can compete at the highest level in their age category, and we’re looking forward to seeing them play in Argentina next month,” said Volleyball Canada assistant coach and Youth Olympic Games Team Leader for beach volleyball, Adriana Bento.
 
Preliminary matches are scheduled for October 7 to 12 with the round of 24 beginning on Saturday, October 13. The women's beach volleyball portion of the games wraps up on Monday, October 17 with the women's final and victory ceremony.
