Ross & Walsh Jennings continue winning ways against Aussies

Toronto, Canada, September 15, 2016 - April Ross and Kerri Walsh Jennings posted their sixth-straight win in as many international Beach Volleyball matches here Thursday after against Louise Bawden and Taliqua Clancy of Australia at the SWATCH FIVB World Tour Finals on Polson Pier.

The American Olympic medal winners scored a 2-0 (21-13, 21-12) Pool A win in 32 minutes over Bawden and Clancy.  The two teams last met in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games where Ross and Walsh Jennings posted a two-set quarter-final win over the Australians.

Louise Bawden - “We did some good things and created a bit of pressure at the start of the second set, which I think was a good sign of some of our strategy.  We made too many mistakes, you really need to contain your game to have a chance to beat them.   We’ll take some time to enjoy the Major Series, it’s a beautiful day here in Toronto and so we look forward to watching some of the great matches going on and enjoying the atmosphere.”

April Ross - “I think our mentality might be a little different.  Even in Long Beach we want to come out and have fun and enjoy the energy from the fans.  We want to play together and be in the moment on the court and finish strong."
