Chile punch last ticket to U19 Worlds at Pan Am Cup

Monterrey, Mexico, March 25, 2017 – Chile became the third and last team qualified to the 2017 FIVB Boys’ World Championship at the age-group Pan American Cup after advancing to the gold medal match against hosts Mexico.

Chile claimed the only South American vacancy available at the tournament by sweeping already qualified Puerto Rico combined with the loss of Colombia to Mexico in the last semifinal match on Tuesday at Nuevo Leon Gymnasium.

Chile joins Brazil and Argentina as South American teams qualified to the world championship to be played in Bahrain from August 18 to 27. Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba and United States will be the representatives of Norceca.

Chile coach and staff join players to celebrate the victory.
